I'm working on the beginning of my second semester. Im on the last two questions of the chapter 5 supplement. I'm having issues with two questions. I got the first one but dont quite get why the answer is the answer and theres mo examples in the books I can go back to to help me figure it out.
4. A 4-kg cat, Betsy, requires oral preparation. The preparation is available in a 5% solution. The dosage is 20 mg/mg daily. How much will Betsy require for 7 days?
4kg x 20mg/1kg x 1mL/50mg = 80/50 = (1.6)7= 11.2 mL
*I'm lost with the percentage part
5. Ted, a 9-kg Bedlington terrier, needs medication at a dose rate of 5 mg/mg. The medication is available as a 20% solution. How much does Ted require for a single dose?
9kg x 5mg/1kg x 1mL/20mg = 45/20 = 2.25
*I tried doing what I thought I learned in question 4. But it didnt apply over here and this is the wrong answer as well
